Boston: Frozen Hoagies
On Friday, I helped Thomas with a project he had to do for his family friend. We walked all over Boston for about 3.5 hours.
We first got off at Copley and headed to the Boston Public Library. That place is beautiful, and probably three or four times bigger than the library in my city. They had ceiling paintings, which reminded me of Michelangelo and Europe; statues, which reminded me of medieval times; and stairwells everywhere, which is always fun.
Next, we went to Boston Gardens and Boston Commons. The flowers (I believe they were tulips) were in full bloom- red, yellow, purple, dark blue, pink… almost every color you can ever imagine. I couldn’t find the statues of the ducks because the park was too big. What a pity. Next time.
Then, we walked all the way to the gate at Chinatown, and walked along that towards Government Center. Except we weren’t really sure where Government Center was. So we walked for about an hour, hugging the coastline. It was a nice walk though. Boston has a lot of interesting buildings. Some that look like it’s about to topple over. Some that look antique but renovated, and some that look chic and modern.
Finally we get to Government Center. And by this time, I was starving so we ate at Quincy Market. Then we headed (via T) back to Copley because Thomas wanted to go look at pinatas, and right before we headed back, we stopped at Frozen Hoagies.
They are an ice cream shop with several wacko toppings (cow tracks, Reese’s reloaded, etc.)
I got cow trucks + peanut butter cookie sliders. It was delicious! Not too sweet, and a mixture of soft + hard. Yum yum yum.
Okay, I’m going back to sleep. Who wakes up at 7am on a Sunday?

T-12 days before I go back home.
Boston, you’ve been kind to me for my first year here. Weather-wise, you’ve been graciously mild. Although I haven’t explored as much as I liked, but I have time. I have at least three more years to figure the ins and outs of you.
I’ll definitely miss you over the summer (except not the humidity). No worries, I’ll be catching some rays back in California. My almost white skin is freaking me out… I’ve never seen myself this light before.
